MR: entered the right corner of the pond, ran in lunging water, over the point and straight to the bird.

LR: jumped in the pond shouldering the wind carrying a path directly toward the fall, last quarter of the way started to veer toward the holding blind, exited on the point under the arch taking a 90 to the left on the point to the bird.

F; went into the mark under the arch, got deep of the fall est a hunt then made a move left with  2 quick turns in the area to retrieve the bird.

MR: ran the bank to the base of the first point, ran in lunging water to the next point and got the bird!

LR: jumped in the water swam parallel to the right-hand shore line, skimmed past the MR exited early 1/2 way down the shoreline and ran the bank to the holding blind taking a sharp left to put her nose on the bird.

F: Smacked it!

MR: ran in lunging water d, own the shore over the 1st point and swam straight to the bird.

LR: enter the pond from the right-hand shore, angling hard left to shoulder the wind "good dog" exiting 50 yards in the big water on the far shore to the left of the fall, He punch out on land to the top of the hill took a hard right loop inward to the base of the point at the holding blind and then ran down the point to retrieve his bird.

LR: ran across the end of the first little point angling toward the big water, swam to the end exited the pond cont. to punch land another hundred yards got thru a fence camped out on the top of the hill hunting hard before making her way inward to the area to retrieve the bird.

F: ran to the guns made a loop wide right and deep then turned to the area to retrieve the bird.

MR: jumped into the right corner of the pond, over the point, swam to the other point and got the bird.

LR: entered the pond over the point, swam parallel to the shore, got to the far shore made a move to the right in the cove near the holding blind, out of sight to reappear on the end of the point at the bird.

MR: ran down the right-hand shore in lungging water, over the 1st point, onto the next point to turn left to the bird.

LR: jumped into the middle of the pond, swimming at an angle into this STOUT wind, made it to the far shore and went deep then turned right, toward the fall and retrieved the bird.

MR: ran the bank to the cove past 1st point. Skimmed shoreline in lungging water to the 2nd point, ran down the point to complete the retrieve

LR: swam 3/4 of the way out veered right entering the mark under the arch made a loop to the right then left to retrieve the bird.

MR: swam a true path to the bird for an accurate mark

LR: jumped in the middle of the pond, "Big Water" Handler gave a "Vocal Back" shortly after the entry as the momentum was poor while swimming. This is considered a "Handle"  after the "Vocal" was given Holland require a few more casts to retrieve the bird.

MR: entered the right corner of the pond swam over the 1st point angling the wind like a "good dog" should exited at the end of the 2nd point to take two steps to the right and retrieve her bird.

LR: chalk-lined the mark!

F: got deep of the fall made one large loop to scoop up the bird

MR: ran the right-hand shore to the base of the 1st point jumped in the water and swam to the bird for a good mark!

LR: made a "Big" splash to enter the pond enroute to LR, Cash swam the whole way on a path toward the area, exited the pond on the far point to put his front-foot on the bird!

Handle 19. FC-AFC Dottie Ray's Blue 4 You, "Blue", LM, Andy Kahn

Came to the line at 4:42 pm

F: good mark!

MR: entered the water in the right corner of the pond, re-enter the water off the 1st point enroute then swam to the base of the 2nd point to make a quick turn Left and retrieve the bird.

LR: took off on a true line to the LR got past the MR just as the dog pasted the MR he turned back to return and was Handled to the bird.

Test Dog # 1 John & "Gus" came to the line at 4:13 pm

F: Nailed it!

MR: jumped in the water swam to the base of the point just to the right of the holding blind got deep near the Flyer and had several casts (Handle) to enter the area and retrieve the bird.

LR: took off on a path angling toward the MR, Gus was then Handled to the bird.

Gus completed the test at 4:21 pm for an 8 min performance.

Test Dog # 2 Ruth & " Megan" came to the line at 4:24 pm

Flyer: Hammered it!

MR: went straight to the bird

LR: to off on a path toward the MR and was Handled to the bird.

Megan completed the test at 4:31 pm for a 7 min performance.

Series 9 Water/Land Triple

We have traveled to JB Ranch owned by John Pampy & Barbara Furlano for the Series 9 Water/Land Triple. The mat is facing Northeast over-looking the right-hand shoreline of a large pond. It is a stout wind blowing out of the West about 10-12 mph. The first mark to be thrown is sitting at the base of the far point behind some cattails. The gunners take a few steps to the West and throw this dead drake Mallard to the left landing in medium cover on the end of the point. This station is measuring at 252 yards and retires behind the cattails. We will refer to this station as the Long Retired (LR). The next bird to be thrown in this water/land triple is a hen Mallard situated just shallow and to the right of the LR. It, too, is seated at the base of another point located on the right-hand shoreline of this large pond.  This mark is thrown to the left and lands in cover at end of the same point as the gun station. This mark is measuring a distance of a 137 yards and retires into a brushed-up holding blind. We will refer to this mark as the Middle Retired (MR). The final bird of this triple is a rooster Pheasant Flyer. This flyer is thrown hard angle back left, landing in medium to heavy yellow cover. This mark is measuring 163 yards and stands-out for the duration of the test.
